  • Monthly Sunday Sangha.

In the buddhist tradition sangha refers to the community of practitioners coming together and supporting one another in collective practice.

My most recent studies have explored just how much buddhism and yoga are intertwined.

Community is at the heart of yoga and although I am leading the class it is our collective effort in showing up in experiencing yoga together that evolves our practice as it ripples out into our lives.

Each month we will explore different topics & techniques that guide us towards the state of yoga. This may be a philosophical teaching or a particular insight into the body which can guide us into a deeper awareness.

These monthly 90 minute classes will run on the first Sunday of every month

09:30-11:00AM at the Natural Wellness Centre on derby road.
I hope these classes ignite insight into yoga and its vast array of teachings.

    Classes are £10

  • Work with me 1 to 1.

Working together 1 to 1 is such a brilliant, special way to practice yoga.

Yoga as a system was intended to be taught this way from teacher to student. This time allows your needs as an individual to be met and the class to be completely tailored around you.

Any combination of the practices yoga encompasses can be incorporated into these sessions. This could be movement, breathing techniques, mantra, guided relaxation or meditation. They all have their role to play in creating space for the journey inward. It can be an empowering practice to be held in this way.

These sessions can build confidence before entering group classes, or they can help break down the ‘how’ and ‘why’ we use props. Each of our bodies is different. 1 to 1 time really provides the space to delve into tailoring your practice to your own physical, spiritual or emotional needs.

    I also offer prenatal 1 to 1

These sessions are about guiding people towards their own empowerment and autonomy through tailored flowing movements and breathing practices, along with targeted strength work and rest. Pregnancy yoga is about tuning into the body’s signals and our innate sense of intuition and wisdom.

These sessions are rooted in embodiment practices, including exercises for pelvic floor strength and adaptability, as well as meditative practices that can help you feel a sense of calm and connection.

The time is tailored to the individual depending on how they are feeling, what’s going on in their body and what trimester they are in. These 1 to 1 sessions are about feeling into movement and enabling rest as you move towards motherhood.

These sessions can be at your home or at a space in the city centre.

  • Introduction to Yoga - currently running

Have you wanted to try yoga but not known where to begin?

Or have you got a regular physical practice but want to explore more yogic concepts?

Whichever, this class is for you. Yoga is made up of many elements. There is the physical practice of asana (postures), this is often the part of yoga we are most familiar with in the West. There is also pranayama (breathing) and dhyana (meditation), among many other techniques that can guide us towards a present state.

These techniques along with philosophical teachings, form a strong foundation of self enquiry. This often can be the most beneficial part of our practice (not touching our toes, believe it or not!). Over time it’s something that can make a real difference in our lives.

Yoga isn’t one size fits all. We aren’t trying to force our bodies into a shape, but we are using the shapes to bring awareness to our bodies.

Postures will be broken down and explained, using props to deepen our understanding and add support.

Breathing techniques will be taught and repeated, offering them as a tool for yoga but also to gain understanding of our nervous system.

May do more in the future.
